The couple who came to Women’s Health Services and turned away after talking with a sidewalk counselor on January 28, returned today!
Julie reported: “Yes, it was a sad day. I got there at 7:05am. The couple from last week was parked in front of me! I went up to their window and made an impassioned plea. He still was ambivalent but she was closed off to any communication. She wouldn’t look at me and her head was down. Eventually he thanked me and rolled up the window.
“When Diana arrived, she tried as well for several minutes. Ultimately they went in and did not come out. When I left at 9:00, eight women had gone in; then four four more after I left, according to Diana. Total for today: 12.”
7:00 AM, September 23, 2022: “Open the door!” FBI awaiting entry into the Houck family home.
Is Mark Houck a dangerous criminal, or a man targeted by Merrick Garland’s Justice Department to score political points?
by William McGurn
Opinion Columnist, Wall Street Journal
January 30, 2023
Mr. Houck, 48, has been on trial for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances, or the F.A.C.E. Act—for shoving a patient escort outside an abortion clinic in 2021. If convicted he faced 11 years in prison. On Friday the jury deadlocked, but on Monday it returned its verdict: not guilty.
This was a case that never should have been brought. U.S. District Judge Gerald Pappert suggested as much when he asked the prosecutor whether federal law didn’t ‘seem to be stretched a little thin here.’ The FBI’s decision to arrest Mr. Houck as though he were John Dillinger also suggested a political stunt.
Mr. Houck is a pro-life ‘sidewalk counselor’ who for years has prayed and protested outside the Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center, a Planned Parenthood clinic in Philadelphia. His goal is to try to persuade women entering the clinic not to go through with their abortions. That is also his constitutional right.
But in 1994 Congress passed the F.A.C.E. Act, which makes it a crime to intimidate or use force to interfere with an abortion provider or a woman seeking an abortion. Prosecutors allege Mr. Houck violated the act when, in two separate instances on Oct. 13, 2021, he shoved volunteer clinic escort Bruce Love.
That much everyone agreed on. But in court, Messrs. Love and Houck offered different versions of events. Mr. Love, now 73, claimed he was twice shoved to the ground without any provocation. Mr. Houck said he pushed Mr. Love because he was harassing his 12-year-old son, Mark Jr., saying crude things to him.
The dispute cut to the heart of intent. If Mr. Houck shoved Mr. Love to interfere with the provision of an abortion, he violated the F.A.C.E. Act. But if Mr. Houck shoved Mr. Love because he was harassing his son, it was a streetside altercation that never should have become a federal case.
In this light, it’s worth noting last week’s admission by the CEO for Planned Parenthood Southeast Pennsylvania, Dayle Steinberg. Ms. Steinberg testified that she’d sent an email about a week after the incident recommending that Mr. Love not serve as an escort ‘while this case is in litigation.’ She noted that Mr. Love had a problem following the clinic’s ‘non-engagement’ policy—even though he was spoken to ‘on numerous occasions.’
The federal intervention was also messy. Local police filed no charges against Mr. Houck. Mr. Love then filed a private criminal complaint, which was ultimately not pursued by Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner’s office.
‘The case was disposed of locally so the DOJ could assume and lead the investigation,’ Jane Roh, a spokeswoman for Mr. Krasner, told the Bucks County Courier Times in September. ‘It is incorrect to say that we declined this case.’
Whatever the reason Mr. Krasner’s office didn’t prosecute, the FBI didn’t arrest this public enemy until Sept. 23, 2022—almost a full year after the altercation.
The FBI came to Mr. Houck’s home as though he were a violent gangster. His wife, Ryan-Marie, said a SWAT team of about 25-30 armed agents arrived around 7 a.m. The FBI disputes details of her account. They deny it was an actual SWAT team and insist that Mrs. Houck’s estimate of the number of agents is an ‘overstatement.’ But the bureau also refused to say exactly how many armed agents there were.
And whether these armed agents were a SWAT team is beside the point. The question is: Was this show of force justified for a man who was never a threat or flight risk? On top of it all, one of Mr. Houck’s team of lawyers at the Thomas More Society, Matt Heffron, had emailed the assistant U.S. attorney in June saying Mr. Houck would accept a summons to surrender himself.
On the evidence, the raid appeared calculated to send a political message. It was less than two months before the midterm elections. Many saw it that way. In October 2022, 11 U.S. senators and 29 members of Congress sent a letter to FBI Director Chris Wray asking if the raid on Mr. Houck was an example of ‘weaponiz[ing] the power of federal law enforcement . . . against pro-life Americans based solely on their beliefs.’
Good question. Ever since Joe Biden’s victory speech in 2020 promising to ‘heal’ and ‘unify’ America, he has called his political opponents ‘extremists’ and accused them of being a ‘threat to democracy.’ Recall the letter he got from the National School Boards Association equating angry parents with ‘domestic terrorism.’ Mr. Biden didn’t dismiss the letter as he should have. Instead he had Mr. Garland ask the FBI to look into the supposed threats.
Mark Houck’s position on abortion makes him unwelcome at the commanding heights of American culture. But it is precisely the unpopular defendant that is most at risk of political prosecution.
Can they ever get enough abortions?
Cape Cod Times, December 30, 2022 — Health Imperatives, a nonprofit organization with clinics in Hyannis, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket, will provide medical abortion at all seven Cape Cod locations after receiving $700,000 in new state funding. Julia Kehoe, the CEO and president, said she expects the service will be offered in July.
As of now, Health Imperatives counsels clients on available options and connects them with resources and other providers.
On Wednesday, December 28, the Baker-Polito administration announced $4.1 million in grants to 11 community organizations and health care providers, including Health Imperatives, to expand abortion access in under-served regions, increase use of telehealth, train providers, and improve outreach.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), a member of the far-left “Squad,” celebrated the Biden administration’s unilateral decision to let retail pharmacies carry abortion pills — on the grounds that abortion has historically been “pushed out of reach” for minorities and the disabled. Pressley’s comments stand as a living testament that every fact can be inverted when touched by Woke ideology.
February 11, 2013: A lightning bolt strikes Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome within hours of Pope Benedict’s surprise announcement of his resignation of the papacy.
Rod Dreher is an Orthodox Christian and a senior editor at The American Conservative. A veteran of three decades of magazine and newspaper journalism, he has also written three New York Times bestsellers — Live Not By Lies, The Benedict Option, and The Little Way of Ruthie Leming.
He recently wrote three very interesting opinion pieces on the departed Pope Emeritus.
In 2015, BXVI wrote a letter to Catholic statesman Vladimir Palko, urging prayer against the “expanding power of the Antichrist”
What are we to conclude? Here is a possibility (only that!): Benedict XVI knew somehow that the Last Days are at hand — and that the power of satanic evil could only be resisted at this point not by the Lion strategy — through worldly power — but through the example of the sacrificial Lamb. He offered himself and his papacy as a kind of katechon — a restraining force — holding back a déluge of chaos and evil for the world, to give Christians time to prepare for what is to come.
Benedict XVI’s Apocalypse
Joseph Ratzinger knew he was living in an age of epochal change. The mystery of his resignation becomes clearer now.
“Definite save!” exclaimed Judy. Sidewalk counselors Mary and Judy gave the couple a ride home from Planned Parenthood. The couple has already been in touch with Eleanor for follow-up support. Thank God for #12!

Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to expand protections for reproductive and gender-affirming care, therefore it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience.
So begins the Act Expanding Protections For Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Care (HB5090) — a fittingly Orwellian title — just signed into law by Governor Baker on July 29. “Emergency” is the requisite adjective appended to any legislation in Massachusetts that promotes abortion or related deviance.
This act, like recent parallel actions by Biden and company, has a punitive quality to it: punishing pro-lifers, MAGA voters, the Deplorables, Christians, etc. It brings to mind a verse from the Apocalypse:
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. [Rev. 12:17]
The Act passed the House 137-16 and the Senate by 39-1. According to Massachusetts Family Institute, this law will:
1. Turn Massachusetts into an “abortion sanctuary” by prohibiting the governor, courts, or law enforcement from cooperating with other states in enforcing their pro-life laws against abortionists who flee to MA.
2. Establish Massachusetts as an abortion exporter by
a. Protecting abortionists who perform abortions out-of-state, even if they violate other states’ laws.
b. Lowering or eliminating safety requirements for pharmacies to dispense abortion pills.
c. Giving immunity to abortionists who provide abortifacient drugs through the mail or through telehealth appointments to women in states where abortion is illegal.
3. Force state universities to provide the abortion pill to students. The August 1 Boston Globe reports that there is a demand for Plan B-dispensing vending machines on college campuses; BU already has one.
4. Force insurance companies to cover abortion, even if they have religious objections. Also prohibits insurance companies from charging deductibles or copays for abortions, but allows them to do so for all other pregnancy-related services.
5. Allow late-term abortions when a doctor deems a baby “incompatible with sustained life” outside of the womb, which decision is not subject to review by any medical board.
This is also an “intersectional” bill, as its legal protections for abortionists extend to organizations who distribute puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, even in states where they have been criminalized for use on children. You might not have realized that Planned Parenthood was also in the transgender hormone business, but they are, aggressively so.
Michelle Malkin: The companies who ruthlessly cracked down on maskless autistic toddlers and senior citizens on respirators — the same ones who threatened, punished and fired vaccine objectors en masse — are now preening loudly about their “culture of care,” “equity” and commitment to sacred health care “rights.” The corporate enforcers of COVID-19 tyranny are now the corporate enforcers of abortion-as-health-care extremism because that is what the Beltway swamp decrees and the TikTok mob demands.
On this Memorial Day weekend, the remembrance of our war dead gives rise to another question: Is the Republic Already Dead? This question is posed by Sam Faddis in AND Magazine, where he warns that the U.S. may be following the deadly path of ancient Rome, which devolved from republic to empire, ruled by dictatorial emperors.
One of the Titanic icebergs that threatens the republic is election fraud. One variety of fraud was depicted in Dinesh D’Souza’s excellent movie, 2000 Mules. Gregg Phillips from TrueTheVote was featured in the movie, and in a recent interview Phillips claimed that big things are soon to be revealed that are “more explosive than the mules . . . it’s going to make everybody forget everything about the mules, and it’s going to bring into question everything we think we know about these elections — everything.”
Respectable — i.e., corrupt — news organizations, including conservative ones, give this issue little coverage; in fact, they suppress coverage. But there are voices.
Emerald Robinson has a disturbing report on the recent Pennsylvania primaries. (Establishment) Republican U.S. senatorial contender “Dave McCormick needs undated mail-in ballots to win and suddenly they appear!”
In Mesa County, Colorado, Robinson reported that “County Clerk Tina Peters was the only election official in the United States to make a copy of the Dominion voting machine hard drive both before and after the stolen 2020 election. This election data has allowed cybersecurity experts to pinpoint exactly how our elections are stolen — mainly by the insertion of shadow databases into local election servers that re-count and ‘adjust’ the results of our elections without local officials being aware of the manipulation.”
But, of course, the law enforcement follow-up (investigations? indictments?) has not been forthcoming, suggesting, again, that corruption is widespread. And note the phrase the only election official in the United States; about whom there is a caveat. County Clerk Tina Peters has been indicted (!!) on multiple charges as a result of her copying the hard drive.
If you have an hour, check out the video of a presentation by Col. Shawn Smith USAF, Ret. who is a Colorado and national election systems security expert. He analyzes in depth many aspects of actual and potential election fraud. The video runs about two hours, but the last hour is Q&A and wrap-up. The take-away from this video, for me, is that the various new election integrity measures are inadequate, and I doubt that we will ever have a fair election for national office again. And I am not too confident about the mid-terms either. But I am going to vote anyway, because I could be wrong.

The global backlash against the proposed amendments to the WHO’s International Health Treaty (IHR) — which would have ceded national sovereignty over to globalists — along with legal actions in the United Kingdom have resulted in almost all of those amendments being dropped for the time being.
According to independent journalist James Roguski, who monitored the hearings, 12 of the 13 amendments submitted by the Biden administration for a vote in the World Health Assembly (WHA) last week in Geneva have been removed from consideration.
Roguski reported that in addition to the public inundating the WHO and their representatives with objections to transferring national sovereignty to the global elites, the removal of a dozen amendments came through legal action filed in the U.K. by a physician, Zac Cox. (The New American )

Judy, once again, spoke with a couple who just exited Planned Parenthood late that morning. There were smiles and a hug. The scheduled abortion had been cancelled and a happy couple went on their way.
“But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” — Rev. 12:12.
Thursday, May 19 brought an unusual level of hostility at Planned Parenthood in Boston. There was the screaming man who went on an angry, loud, and irrational tirade. “There is no God!” “It’s not a baby!” “You have NO science!” “You look like the ones who claim that Planned Parenthood sells baby parts!” (Well, that’s what they said!)
There was also a sign kicker, and other assorted cursers (as in photo above). Another hysterical woman was in a car shrieking and cursing from within the car as she awaited the arrival of a passenger in the coffee shop.
Like their father, they are sore losers; although most of the baby killing will still go on if Roe is overturned, apparently there can never be enough to satisfy them.
SATURDAY, APRIL 23: Judy, a sidewalk counselor, spoke with the young woman: “It was a definite save!”
The most effective pro-life work, in terms of babies lives saved, is that of the crisis pregnancy centers. Your Options Medical, for example, saves over 100 babies per year, effected usually after the women have seen ultrasound images of their babies.
As far as I know, the highest total of saved babies, by far, belongs to Expectant Mother Care in New York City. From their website: “Over the past thirty years, EMC FRONTLINE has been an innovative leader serving in the mouth of the abortion capital where 70,000 abortions are done annually. Because of our missions and services, we have been able to save 43,000 innocent children from abortion. As we grow, we have plans to grow into other cities and states. EMC also makes abortion determined caller referrals to Pregnancy Centers in 10 U.S. cities, daily.”
Many people, of course, contribute to the work of EMC. But a special tribute is due to their founder, Chris Slattery, a Boston College graduate, BTW. LifeSiteNews did this video portrait of Chris, who is still carrying on his baby-saving work, while suffering from terminal cancer.
Flag pole at Jesuit Nativity School in Worcester (Joe Bukuras/CNA)
Bishop Robert McManus of the Worcester Diocese directed that the Jesuit run Nativity School remove gay pride and BLM flags (above) from the school. This did not go over well at Holy Cross College, where hundreds of students, alumni, employees, administrators and faculty members at the College of the Holy Cross have signed a defamatory petition demanding that the bishop be disinvited to the college’s commencement exercises in May.
C.J. Doyle of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts comments here.
On April 12, a letter was sent to Washington, D.C. Mayor Bowser from both the House of Representatives and the Senate demanding a full investigation into the recent deaths of the five children, all committed at the Washington Surgi-Clinic. Although abortion is legal through all nine months of pregnancy in D.C., medical experts who reviewed photos of the children believe that federal crimes may have been committed in violation of the Partial-Birth Abortion Act as well as the Born Alive Infants Protection Act.
Yet, Mayor Bowser — who leads all of the District bureaucracy including the D.C. Medical Examiner’s Office — indicated to the media that they’ve chosen not to conduct autopsies or further investigate the circumstances of the deaths.
NUMBER 5: A sidewalk counselor heard from a husband of a woman who had gone to Women’s Health Services in March. He had good news: his wife will NOT have the abortion! He thanked the pro-life counselor for her help. She will be thanking the numerous intercessors she solicited.
Pro-life leader Lila Rose criticized Washington, D.C. officials Thursday for refusing to investigate whether five late-term aborted babies were victims of infanticide or illegal partial-birth abortions.
“This is the American horror story that no one wants to talk about, but it is our children, our most vulnerable, and they deserve love and protection,” Rose told Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

The Massachusetts Pro-Life Coalition characterized the demonstration as “a tremendous success, far exceeding the expected turn-out, which indicates growing indignation in the Catholic community over the sycophancy of corrupt Catholic institutions towards pro-abortion political figures.”
Massachusetts Pro-Life Coalition spokesman William Cotter, the President of Operation Rescue Boston, made the following comment: “Faithful Catholics have lost patience with elite Catholic institutions who prize power, money and celebrity over fidelity to Catholic principles. Catholic Memorial has signaled, clearly, that Christian morality will not stand in the way of the school’s fundraising priorities.”
Walsh, the current U.S. Secretary of Labor under President Joe Biden, received the Blessed Edmund Ignatius Rice Award, named after the founder of the Irish Christian Brothers, a religious order that administers the grades-7-through-12 Catholic school in West Roxbury.
Walsh was the headliner of the sold-out spring gala for the school, a fund-raiser.
A giant American flag hung over the entrance to the Four Points Sheraton off Route 1 in Norwood, dangling from a ladder extended from a Boston fire engine. A lone bagpiper played outside the hotel.
About two stone’s throws away, protesters held signs while standing on the 7-foot-wide sidewalk between the breakdown lane and the grass, which hotel security warned protesters to stay off of.
One of the protesters, Dr. Francis Bane, is the father of a senior at Catholic Memorial.
“I’m here because I’m trying to teach my son the message that Catholic Memorial should be teaching – what are true Catholic values. I’m very disappointed in the school that they would promote a person as upholding Catholic values who promotes what I would consider the true America genocide, abortion,” said Bane, a Newton resident.

From a source inside the Gala. A report by C.J. Doyle, Executive Director of The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts:
My source informed me that organizers were apparently quite concerned that the “crazy protestors” would crash the event and disrupt Walsh’s speech. They were also looking for paying guests who they thought might be plants who would cause a disturbance.
They had five private security guards inside, along with two Norwood cops. There were, at least, four guards outside, for a total of eleven security personnel.
It shows you how disconnected they are from real Catholics. It is also projection, as they assume peaceful, praying pro-lifers are as disruptive as their friends on the Left.
This is also a kind of bourgeois snobbery. If you are outraged over a Catholic school honoring an advocate of child murder, you must be some sort of unhinged extremist, capable of anything. As Farah Stockman of the Globe once said: “Typical pro-lifers—screaming obscenities and foaming at the mouth.”
Oh, and they raised a reported $1.1 million from the event.
by Emerald Robinson:
On March 3, Chris Pandolfo at Blaze Media revealed that his media organization had filed FOIA requests regarding the Biden Administration’s covert funding of the deadly new vaccines and the American corporate media.
What did Chris Pandolfo find? He discovered that nearly the entire corporate media took money from the Biden Administration to push the vaccines to their audiences without disclosing it. More importantly, so-called “conservative” media organizations took money from the Biden Administration to spin positive stories about deadly and ineffective vaccines to their conservative viewers who were right to be suspicious — and did not disclose it.
Fox News took the money and said nothing to its conservative viewers.
Newsmax took the money and said nothing to its conservative viewers.
As a former Newsmax reporter, let me add a personal detail: I was contacted by top Newsmax executives and told to halt any negative coverage of the vaccines in 2021. I was told that “it was problematic” for Newsmax. I was given some version of this warning multiple times by multiple executives. Obviously, I did not heed their advice.
I was contacted by PR experts who worked with Newsmax and was told that medical experts and doctors who might say negative things about the new vaccines would not be booked as guests at all.
In other words, the Biden Administration’s money did not just pay for pro-vaccine advertising at outlets like Fox and Newsmax: it paid for an outright ban on any negative coverage.

Over 700 people were arrested for their participation in the January 6, 2021 protest / riot at the U.S. Capitol. Despite hyperbole and outright lies from Democrats and media, most of those arrested were charged with something akin to trespassing.
The striking features of this event and its aftermath are (1) the energy and determination with which the FBI and other federal authorities pursued suspects, compared to other vastly more violent and destructive events for which few if any have been prosecuted; and (2) the denial of due process to the defendants.
The status of these and all defendants is citizens awaiting trial. Citizens who are legally presumed innocent, and entitled to due process: i.e., the government owes each of the accused a judicial process in accord with the rights specified in the fifth, sixth, and eighth amendments, among others.
But we now live under a regime where power is exercised for the sake imposing its preferred ideology and to punish and intimidate its enemies. They seized power through a stolen election, and the theft continues. The recent wave of smash and grab crimes, where store shelves are cleaned out by brazen gangs, is a fitting metaphor for the regime and its attack on the Constitution.
About 50 of the original 700 remain incarcerated. Some have been convicted and were given inordinate sentences. Others await trial. An article on American Thinker summarizes the treatment of the January 6 prisoners.
In addition to normal humanitarian concerns, we should take action for these defendants, because their persecution is a proxy for our persecution. We can see this, to take one example among many, when parents who object to Critical Race Theory being taught to their children are labeled domestic terrorists by their government.
A website has been established by Gateway Pundit that lists all January 6 defendants, the charges against, states of residence, and links to help with their legal and living expenses: being held for a year without bail can mean financial ruin, as one faces large legal bills and loss of income while vindictively denied bail and a speedy trial. The website is americangulag.org.
Below are some articles with commentary and analysis of January 6, some of its not so prominent perpetrators, and the treatment of the accused. Probably the most prolific journalist on this matter is Julie Kelly of American Greatness.
What Role Did the FBI Play in January 6?
By Julie Kelly — January 8, 2022
“If it turns out that an extraordinary percentage of the members of these groups involved in planning and executing the Capitol Siege were federal informants or undercover operatives, the implications would be nothing short of staggering. This would be far worse than the already bad situation of the government knowing about the possibility of violence and doing nothing. Instead, this would imply that elements of the federal government were active instigators in the most egregious and spectacular aspects of 1/6, amounting to a monumental entrapment scheme used as a pretext to imprison otherwise harmless protestors at the Capitol—and in a much larger sense used to frame the entire MAGA movement as potential domestic terrorists.” — Darren Beattie, a former aide to President Donald Trump
Given the FBI’s long history of using false-front groups as flypaper to attract dangerous radicals, and then moving them to commit actionable crimes, this kind of speculation seems far from unreasonable.

Analysis of Jan. 6 – Seemingly engineered by Deep State to destroy Trump and entire conservative movement
by Patrick Delaney, LifeSiteNews.com
With a closer look we discover a tale that pits a political, financial, and media establishment against common citizens of the United States, where up to 47% of likely voters in America, including up to 30% of Democrats, believed the 2020 presidential election results were “very likely” fraudulent, despite unprecedented media and Big Tech suppression of the topic.
In exercising their First Amendment rights on January 6, hundreds of thousands of racially diverse Americans may have been subjected to a highly financed “deep state” operation which involved the implementation of institutional techniques utilized for revolutions abroad, including the fostering of division and violence among a minority in their presence and the illegitimate shedding of blood at the hands of the Capitol’s police force, which is not accountable to the public.
In addition, given a long track record of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) being involved in entrapment, and even being involved with at least one terrorist attack against citizens in Garland, Texas in 2015, this minority of violent protestors may have been led by FBI operatives who also may have acted as “agents-provocateurs” orchestrating a scenario where massive numbers of marchers at the Capitol became an “unwitting follow-on force” corralled to enter the building.
The BIG Story? Pfizer knew. The FDA knew. Big Pharma and Uncle Sam knew. They were completely, baldfacedly, complicitly aware by February 2021 that the Pfizer C19 injections had been fatal to 1,223 persons. "Safe and effective"? Pfizer received 42,086 reports enumerating 158,893 "adverse events" in the first 90 days of the global EUA experimental mRNA injection experiment. Besides all of the fatalities, they knew that the shots had quickly caused nearly 26,000 nervous system disorders; they knew also that spontaneous abortions and heart attacks and many other grievous injuries were part of what Pfizer stone-heartedly describes as the "post-marketing experience."
Needless to say, this "post-marketing experience" translates into real pain for real people following the snake-oil-sold-shot.
The significance of such news is indisputable, its sourcing impeccable. It is based on over 91 pages of Pfizer-created documents (just a fraction of the documents Pfizer presented to the FDA on applying for licensing) that the FDA has just released to the public under court order, thanks to the efforts of attorney Aaron Siri and a group called Public Health and Medical Professionals for Transparency.

From Tom Harvey: I am sorry to inform you that we have come up a little bit short in our pro-life signature gathering effort. We collected over 75,000 certified signatures, but a little fewer than the required number of 80,239. It is reported that we collected about 100,000 “raw” signatures, but many were not certified for various reasons.
On the bright side, we are trending in the right direction. In the last statewide pro-life signature gathering effort, held in 2019, we collected 57,191 certified signatures. An approximate 18,000 increase is a substantial improvement. And we are building a stronger pro-life network. We had many more volunteers than ever before.
I am grateful to you and all the volunteers who put in such hard work. Without your dedication, this pro-life signature drive never would have come close to the success that we almost had. So, thank you for all that you have done and are doing for the pro-life cause.
The Massachusetts Republican Party challenged the signature disqualifications, but the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court rejected the challenge.

With the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case before the U.S. Supreme Court, our Nation faces the possible upending of the landmark decision Roe v. Wade — the case that has dictated America’s abortion laws for over 48 years. However, the justices in the majority made it clear that its temporary, provisional holding in Roe was never meant to be the final say on abortion.
Editor’s note: If the usual routine holds at the Supreme Court, the nine justices, who heard oral arguments Wednesday, met privately Friday, December 3 to discuss the case further and vote on it. So, in all likelihood, the case is already decided. It remains now to write the opinion and the dissent(s). The final result will probably be released in June or July.

Dr. Robert Malone reveals that he has been called to testify as an expert witness in a court in Boston in a case in which the state has removed a 14 year old child from the parents’ custody.
Said Dr. Malone: “The legal system is insisting on vaccinating this 14-year-old. The mother is objecting, and she is a very senior biotech executive, she is highly informed. She has made a decision not to vaccinate her child based on the data, and the courts have removed custody and trying to force the child to accept vaccination.”
As with abortion, the ethic is children belong to the State. Ultimately, the State recognizes no parental rights!

Archbishop Viganò: Deep State and Church will bring new world religion and new world order
ABOVE: Father O’Shea at Galway University Hospital in Ireland.
Father Morty was active in Operation Rescue Boston for a few years around 1990. He was an electrical engineer, but discerning a vocation to the priesthood, he entered the seminary and is now a parish priest in his native Ireland. But he has cancer!
From Father Morty’s blog: “Following my Multiple Myeloma relapse and its immunity to available chemotherapy, I will be receiving stopgap treatment in Galway which will take a few weeks. This will buy time to travel afterwards to the Sloan Kettering clinic in NYC to see if their more advanced treatments will benefit my situation.
“In the picture there are behind me some 4 intravenous pumps that supplied 23 hours of different chemotherapies along with some other oral ones. I just had an hour’s break for a wash-up and walk around the corridor. I’ll shortly be connected up again for another 23 hours. Thankfully there has been no sickness yet, unlike the two earlier stem cell [bone marrow] transplants of 2013 and 2016.”
The unthinkable is happening. America is not just threatened by Marxism, America is quickly becoming Marxist, and Americans have been astonished by what Levin calls “the unremitting, harmonized and ferocious blitz” of this revolution. The political hurricane has hit so hard and so rapidly that we have time to focus only on the flooded streets and damaged levies while we await the next storm surge.
American Marxism is a devastating new book and arguably Levin’s most important work, whose most powerful statement comes not in the conclusion but as the header for its very first chapter: “It’s Here.” — Brent Bozell review on Breitbart

U.S. Capitol, January 6, 2021
JUNE 9, 2021 — A group of Republicans are thankfully starting to pay attention to the people who were arrested in the wake of the events at the Capitol building on January 6, 2021. As RAIR Foundation USA observed on January 9, 2021: “If citizens do not push back against these political arrests, they will only continue and get worse.”
In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland dated June 7, 2021, U.S. Senators Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) addressed the clear disparity in treatment of Capitol protesters versus Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters.
They write in part that the “potential unequal administration of justice with respect to certain protestors is particularly concerning.” There have been reports of “Stop the Steal” Rally protestors being held in solitary confinement 23 hours a day.

The Justice Department and federal judges also continue to lie in court about the number of fatalities from January 6 in order to make the event seem far worse than it actually was. A Senate report issued this week also repeated the falsehood that “seven individuals, including three law enforcement officers, lost their lives.”
But federal prosecutors and Beltway judges—many of whom were involved in the nonstop criminal hunt against President Trump and his associates for four years—are wasting no time doling out severe punishment for those who dared to challenge the incoming Biden regime.

On Thursday morning (May 27) a couple left Women’s Health Services in Brookline and the man told Sean, a sidewalk counselor that there would be no abortion! That’s number 11.
Mask mandates and other Wuhan Virus restrictions are coming down in most of the USA. But as talk show host and former CIA analyst Buck Sexton said, it’s not over! Until the COVID tyranny is utterly repudiated, it is merely on Pause, awaiting the whim of a bureaucrat who thinks that “Science” trumps Liberty.
No one who has been paying attention could doubt the reality of this threat to our country. As frequent Crisis contributor Paul Kengor demonstrates in his excellent book The Devil and Karl Marx, Communists have been slowly taking over the institutions of this nation for the last hundred years. Now, they appear ready to make a push for complete control of the country. They do not always call themselves Marxists, or Communists, or Socialists, but their goal is the same—to create a Soviet America.

From Renew MA Coalition: The Sex-Ed bills, HD 3454 and SD 2178, will require all public schools that offer comprehensive health education to use sex education curricula approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
One such approved curriculum is “Get Real,” which is produced by Planned Parenthood! This curriculum, and others in the category of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, is a how-to in terms of engaging in sexual activity.
It would teach young children about abortion and graphic sex acts. Sections of the curriculum even recommend using plastic wrap as a prophylactic to 13 year-olds!
How is that “medically accurate” or “age appropriate”? Parents should be deciding what’s age appropriate, not government.
This curriculum is pornographic and should not be codified in our laws, let alone taught to our children!
This debate about the health-curriculum frameworks is really about local control and autonomy for parents and families. There should be choices for parents and school districts regarding what their children are taught, rather than a one-size-fits-all, top-down, mandated approach sought by the radical left and Planned Parenthood.
There is a “virtual” (online) hearing at the State House today, May 20 on these bills. (Announced yesterday afternoon!)

The Worcester School Committee approved a so-called comprehensive sex education curriculum on the night of Thursday, May 6.
The committee voted 5-2 to approve Rights, Respect, Responsibility, a sex education program produced by Advocates for Youth.
Fifty-two people addressed the school committee during public comment over the course of a little more than two hours before the vote. Thirty supported the sex curriculum. Twenty-one opposed. One said she was neither for nor against.
WARNING: EXPLICIT LANGUAGE. Here is what is in the Worcester curriculum.

The three sidewalk counselors who spoke with the woman who chose LIFE last Saturday.
Sidewalk counselors (ABOVE) were there Saturday, March 13 when a woman came out of Planned Parenthood and told them she was definitely not going through with her scheduled abortion! Phone numbers were exchanged, so we’ll follow up.
Lee Crowley of the Worcester campaign reported: “We recently learned that someone who used to work at Planned Parenthood left after one of our campaigns. This worker had a complete change of heart and has since been trying to help build a culture of life.”
More from Lee Crowley: I met a woman this morning (March 17) when I was praying in front of PP in Worcester. She stopped to thank me for being there and told me she had considered abortion a few years ago. She went to Planned Parenthood in Boston, where there were people praying outside, but she went past them and went in. While inside she had a change of heart and she came back out; but the people were gone. Thus, she didn’t get to tell them she had changed her mind. She continued with her pregnancy and had twins! She is very grateful that she didn’t go through with the abortion. She credits God and the people who were praying outside Planned Parenthood.
I thanked the woman for taking the time to stop this morning and told her she’d made my day. I like to think St. Patrick gave us the gift of hearing this today to encourage us.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA, February 27, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — A spirited discussion during a breakout session at CPAC today brought out into the open what many religious Americans have been saying the past several years, namely, that the conservative movement is compromising on social issues in order to win over gay and pro-LGBT voters.
Pro-life activist Abby Johnson lit the fuse Saturday with remarks she gave during a panel conversation on Christianity that also featured former Trump legal advisor Jenna Ellis. Johnson’s comments resulted in a twenty minute, sometimes combative, back and forth between herself, other panelists, and audience members.
“They haven’t had one keynote speaker stand up there and talk about the attack on traditional marriage,” Johnson thundered. “And they can’t. Because some of their sponsors are gay conservatives.”
Johnson, who has previously spoken on CPAC’s main stage, said she was referring to the influence of groups like Log Cabin Republicans and Atheists for Liberty, which had booths at the conference.
“Transgenderism is running rampant through CPAC and we’re not talking about traditional families, we’re not talking about traditional marriage ... because we have compromised to this false sense of diversity.”

The idea had its model in the valiant witness given by Canadian pro-lifer Mary Wagner, who for the last ten years has, by herself, entered abortion clinics in her native land to talk to the mothers. As a symbol of the sanctity of human life, and the sanctity of their own lives, Mary offers roses to each of the women. We decided to do the same. Thus, Red Rose Rescue was born.
The foundation of Red Rose Rescue is built on a number of philosophical and spiritual principles. The unborn are a victim class. Indeed, the argument could be made that they are the most oppressed people-group in the world. The unborn scheduled for abortion are the outcasts of humanity. The Red Rose Rescue is based on a basic Christian principle—namely: “Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.” Unborn children about to be murdered deserve someone to come to their aid and they deserve that someone should witness to the sacredness of their lives. Red Rose Rescuers place themselves in the shoes of the unwanted unborn—if our lives were threatened, certainly we would want someone to defend us against such threats—to at least stand in the way of the impending assault. So the rescuer does for the outcast unborn what they would want done for them.

By Newt Gingrich — December 21, 2020
A smart friend of mine who is a moderate liberal asked why I was not recognizing Joe Biden’s victory.
The friend made the case that Mr. Biden had gotten more votes, and historically we recognize the person with the most votes. Normally, we accept the outcome of elections just as we accept the outcomes of sporting events.
So, my friend asked, why was 2020 different?
Having spent more than four years watching the left #Resist President Donald Trump and focus entirely on undoing and undermining the 2016 election, it took me several days to understand the depth of my own feelings.
As I thought about it, I realized my anger and fear were not narrowly focused on votes. My unwillingness to relax and accept that the election [was legitimate] grew out of a level of outrage and alienation unlike anything I had experienced in more than 60 years involvement in public affairs.
The challenge is that I — and other conservatives — are not disagreeing with the left within a commonly understood world. We live in alternative worlds.
The left’s world is mostly the established world of the forces who have been dominant for most of my life.
My world is the populist rebellion which believes we are being destroyed, our liberties are being cancelled and our religions are under assault. (Note the new Human Rights Campaign to decertify any religious school which does not accept secular sexual values — and that many Democrat governors have kept casinos open while closing churches through the COVID-19 pandemic.) We also believe other Democrat-led COVID-19 policies have enriched the wealthy while crushing middle class small business owners (some 160,000 restaurants may close).
In this context, let’s talk first about the recent past and the presidency.
In 2016, I supported an outsider candidate, who was rough around the edges and in the Andrew Jackson school of controversial assaults on the old order. When my candidate won, it was blamed on the Russians. We now know (four years later) Hillary Clinton’s own team financed the total lie that fueled this attack.
Members of the FBI twice engaged in criminal acts to help it along — once in avoiding prosecution of someone who had deleted 33,000 emails and had a subordinate use a hammer to physically destroy hard drives, and a second time by lying to FISA judges to destroy Gen. Michael Flynn and spy on then-candidate Donald Trump and his team. The national liberal media aided and abetted every step of the way. All this was purely an attempt to cripple the new president and lead to the appointment of a special counsel — who ultimately produced nothing.
Now, people in my world are told it is time to stop resisting and cooperate with the new president. But we remember that the Democrats wanted to cooperate with Mr. Trump so much that they began talking about his impeachment before he even took office. The Washington Post ran a story on Democrat impeachment plots the day of the inauguration.
In fact, nearly 70 Democratic lawmakers boycotted his inauguration. A massive left-wing demonstration was staged in Washington the day after, where Madonna announced she dreamed of blowing up the White House to widespread applause. These same forces want me to cooperate with their new president. I find myself adopting the Nancy Pelosi model of constant resistance. Nothing I have seen from Mr. Biden since the election offers me any hope that he will reach out to the more than 74 million Americans who voted for President Trump.
So, I am not reacting to the votes so much as to the whole election environment.
When Twitter and Facebook censored the oldest and fourth largest newspaper (founded by Alexander Hamilton) because it accurately reported news that could hurt Mr. Biden’s chances — where were The New York Times and The Washington Post?
The truth of the Hunter Biden story is now becoming impossible to avoid or conceal. The family of the Democrat nominee for president received at least $5 million from an entity controlled by our greatest adversary. It was a blatant payoff, and most Americans who voted for Mr. Biden never heard of it — or were told before the election it was Russian disinformation. Once they did hear of it, 17% said they would have switched their votes, according to a poll by the Media Research Center. That’s the entire election. The censorship worked exactly as intended.
Typically, newspapers and media outlets band together when press freedom is threatened by censorship. Where was the sanctimonious “democracy dies in darkness?” Tragically, The Washington Post is now part of the darkness.
But this is just a start. When Twitter censors four of five Rush Limbaugh tweets in one day, I fear for the country.
When these monolithic Internet giants censor the president of the United States, I fear for the country.
When I see elite billionaires like Mark Zuckerburg are able to spend $400 million to hire city governments to maximize turnout in specifically Democratic districts — without any regard to election spending laws or good governance standards — I fear for the country.
When I read that Apple has a firm rule of never irritating China — and I watch the NBA kowtow to Beijing, I fear for our country.
When I watch story after story about election fraud being spiked — without even the appearance of journalistic due diligence or curiosity — I know something is sick.
The election process itself was the final straw in creating the crisis of confidence which is accelerating and deepening for many millions of Americans.
Aside from a constant stream of allegations of outright fraud, there are some specific outrages — any one of which was likely enough to swing the entire election.
Officials in virtually every swing state broke their states’ own laws to send out millions of ballots or ballot applications to every registered voter. It was all clearly documented in the Texas lawsuit, which was declined by the U.S. Supreme Court based on Texas’ procedural standing — not the merits of the case. That’s the election.
In addition, it’s clear that virtually every swing state essentially suspended normal requirements for verifying absentee ballots. Rejection rates were an order of magnitude lower than in a normal year. In Georgia, rejection rates dropped from 6.5% in 2016 to 0.2% in 2020. In Pennsylvania, it went from 1% in 2016 to .003% in 2020. Nevada fell from 1.6% to .75%. There is no plausible explanation other than that they were counting a huge number of ballots — disproportionately for Mr. Biden — that normally would not have passed muster. That’s the election.
The entire elite liberal media lied about the timeline of the COVID-19 vaccine. They blamed President Trump for the global pandemic even as he did literally everything top scientists instructed. In multiple debates, the moderators outright stated that he was lying about the U.S. having a vaccine before the end of the year (note Vice President Mike Pence received it this week). If Americans had known the pandemic was almost over, that too was likely the difference in the election.
The unanimously never-Trump debate commission spiked the second debate at a critical time in order to hurt President Trump. If there had been one more debate like the final one, it likely would have been pivotal.
This is just the beginning. But any one of those things alone is enough for Trump supporters to think we have been robbed by a ruthless establishment — which is likely to only get more corrupt and aggressive if it gets away with these blatant acts.
For more than four years, the entire establishment mobilized against the elected president of the United States as though they were an immune system trying to kill a virus. Now, they are telling us we are undermining democracy.
You have more than 74 million voters who supported President Trump despite everything — and given the election mess, the number could easily be significantly higher. The truth is tens of millions of Americans are deeply alienated and angry.
If Mr. Biden governs from the left — and he will almost certainly be forced to — that number will grow rapidly, and we will win a massive election in 2022.
Given this environment, I have no interest in legitimizing the father of a son who Chinese Communist Party members boast about buying. Nor do I have any interest in pretending that the current result is legitimate or honorable. It is simply the final stroke of a four-year establishment-media power grab. It has been perpetrated by people who have broken the law, cheated the country of information, and smeared those of us who believe in America over China, history over revisionism, and the liberal ideal of free expression over cancel culture.
I write this in genuine sorrow, because I think we are headed toward a serious, bitter struggle in America. This extraordinary, coordinated four-year power grab threatens the fabric of our country and the freedom of every American.

Patriots rallied, Antifa and its Handlers created an incident, and Mike Pence betrayed us
Steven W. Mosher, President, Population Research Institute
An earlier version of this article originally appeared in LifeSiteNews on January 7th, 2021
PRI is deeply saddened at the violence that took place at the U.S. Capitol, and mourn the deaths of US Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick and Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt, who was shot and killed inside the Capitol. The actions of a few, provoked by Antifa/BLM and other radical instigators, must not be used to defame the hundreds of thousands of pro-life, pro-family Americans who attended a peaceful rally to protest election fraud.
Wednesday began with a peaceful MAGA rally.
President Trump spoke at length detailing how the election was stolen in key swing states—and it was stolen. Then he encouraged the crowd to walk to the Capitol in a peaceful demonstration of their displeasure with what was arguably the most corrupt election in American history.
It goes without saying that the President did not call for violence. You can watch the speech for yourself. The president has never, in all of the hundreds of rallies that he has held, incited his rallygoers in that way. The atmosphere at the rallies is more along the lines of a kind of family reunion for forgotten Americans. Those of us who support him are happy warriors for truth, bearing zero resemblance to those on the Left.
That fact did not, of course, stop the media talking heads and the politicians from falsely blaming Trump and his supporters for what happened then.
Mingled in the crowd were members of the terrorist group, Antifa, who were there precisely to commit violent acts as part of a “false flag” operation. We have copies of the notices that Antifa organizers had sent out to their followers to infiltrate the crowd wearing MAGA gear and evidence that they were waiting for an opportunity to strike. One retired FBI agent reported seeing a bus disgorge an entire busload of Antifa.
These instigators had already broken into the Capitol by the time Trump supporters reached the area. Flimsy metal barricades surrounding the Capitol building had been set up by the Capitol Police but the Antifa plants began pushing these aside and encouraging others to do so. In some cases, the Capitol Police simply stood aside and let the crowd in. Some of the scenes look like opening day at Disney World, with the crowd walking—not running—calmly towards the building as the police seemed to lead the way.
At this point, President Trump sent out a video message to his supporters asking them to end the rally and leave. He reminded them that “we are the Party of law and order” and that they should “respect the law and our great men and women in blue.”
This was not a message that Twitter wanted the world or Trump’s supporters to hear. They quickly took this video and another tweet down. (All who are concerned about social media censorship should note that Twitter has now censored the sitting President of the United States for the first, but undoubtedly not the last, time.)
Over the years, I’ve been in the Capitol building a hundred times. It’s one of the most secure buildings in the world. It’s definitely not a building that you can “storm” or “breach”—as Trump supporters are accused of doing. All the Capitol Police would have had to do to keep the unarmed protesters out and secure the building is to lock the heavy steel doors. Instead, they let them in.
One video, obviously staged and filmed for publicity purposes, shows the Capitol Police opening an exit door, encouraging the crowd to come in, and then running away. The Capitol Police, I should note, work for Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell.
Pictures from inside the Capitol do not show those inside rioting or engaging in destructive acts, although several interior windows were reportedly broken by Antifa activists. Facial recognition technology has linked some of the Capitol rioters to Antifa/BLM activists in Philadelphia and Arizona. Congressman Matt Gaetz courageously pointed this out during his floor speech.
Finally, although this is being widely reported as a “violent” assault on the Capitol building, there have been to date no injuries reported among the Capitol Police force, members of which were seen taking selfies with some of Trump’s supporters inside the Capitol.
On the other hand, one unarmed demonstrator, a 14-year Air Force veteran by the name of Ashli Babbitt, was shot and killed by plainclothes police. They inexplicably fired through a window on a closed door. May she rest in peace.
Do not expect any George Floyd-style eulogies for this poor woman, however. The media can barely bring itself to mention her name. They are too busy attacking Trump supporters for causing “chaos” by walking around inside the Capitol and engaging in seditious acts like praying in the House chambers for their country.
The media prefer to celebrate things like Leftist agitators rioting in front of the White House and pulling down statues, like they did last summer. These are the kinds of acts that make Obama “proud”, as he said at the time, and get you included in Nike commercials.
Was the entire episode staged? It certainly seems that way to an increasing number of people.
In any event, the incident proved enormously useful to those who wanted to quickly certify the fraudulent election. Following the supposed “riot”, a number of Republicans backed off of their commitments to challenge the election results in key states. The Democrats—and some Republicans—came back to the House chambers with (pre)prepared speeches about how Trump and his supporters were engaging in an “insurrection” and threatening to overturn the “will of the people.”
As for Mike Pence, who was presiding over the counting of the electoral votes, he used the “violence” to justify handing over power to those who stole the presidential election—and continue to steal elections.
The plan—which I understand Pence had earlier agreed to—was to send the dueling slates of electors back to the contested states for the state legislatures to decide which one to certify. His action in doing so would have been justified by a longstanding rule laying out the Vice President’s role in counting electoral votes.
For decades, this rule has read that the Vice President would, before any votes are counted, “ascertain that [the] certificates are regular in form and authentic.” This rule would clearly have given Pence the authority to introduce competing slates of electors and send these back to the states.
Instead, without telling the President and his team, Pence changed the rules concerning how the electoral votes would be counted to avoid having to introduce or address the rival slates of Trump electors.
The “Pence rule” cedes the authority to determine which “certificates are regular in form and authentic” to the House Parliamentarian, who provides the House with guidance on parliamentary rules and procedures. The only votes that will be “announced,” the new rule reads, are those that the “Parliamentarian’s advised me is the only certificate of vote … from an authority of that state purporting to appoint or ascertain electors.”
The House Parliamentarian, of course, is appointed by the Speaker of the House, who is none other than Nancy Pelosi. What this means is that, for whatever reason, Pence let a member of Pelosi’s staff adjudicate the slates of electors. The outcome was a foregone conclusion.
It is hard to put into words the depth of the betrayal that I feel. Pence has always portrayed himself as utterly committed to the pro-life, pro-family, pro-American cause. And yet it is impossible to avoid the conclusion that, for whatever reason, he conspired with Nancy Pelosi and, of course, Mitch McConnell, to betray the very voters who put him in office in the first place. Not to mention the 75 million voters who voted in November, the pro-life cause, religious freedom, the Second Amendment—indeed, every principle he has long claimed to support.
Does he intend to run for president in 2024? Good luck with that.
As far as I’m concerned, he belongs right up there with Benedict Arnold and Aaron Burr.
Due to the massive, naked fraud and illegality by Democrats in the 2020 election, Wednesday’s joint session of Congress, convened for its constitutional function of receiving and counting the certified electoral votes from the states, will be a far cry from a mere formality.
As a result of machine generated “votes” and a vast breakdown of the rule of law, Biden leads Trump in the electoral count 306-232. But thanks to, finally, congressional Republicans who have stepped forward in defense of the president and the constitution, there will be numerous challenges to the the acceptance of electoral votes from states with the most obvious fraud. It is likely that this will be a highly contentious, lengthy proceeding.
Mike Pence, as President of the Senate presides over the session, per the constitution. One hot issue is, does he have unilateral authority to accept or reject slates of electors?
Will the presentation of evidence, e.g., of election fraud, be allowed?
Pence’s Chief of Staff Marc Short issued the following statement: “Vice President Pence shares the concerns of millions of Americans about voter fraud and irregularities in the last election… The Vice President welcomes the efforts of members of the House and Senate to use the authority they have under the law to raise objections and bring forward evidence before the Congress and the American people on January 6th.”
Upon a challenge to a state’s electoral vote, will the mandatory debates be resolved by by counting a plurality of votes from the respective congressional bodies, or by a plurality of one-vote-per-state delegates within the bodies?
In the end, Biden or Trump may be certified as having the decisive number of electoral votes. Or neither may be, after which the House decides and Trump should be the winner. Or a deadlock could require a delay of days or weeks to resolve conflicts. Some lawmakers are now asking for a 10-day delay so that forensic audits may be done in the states.

The Catholic Action League of Massachusetts reports: Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, who is a supporter of legal abortion and a proponent of tax subsidies for Planned Parenthood, has vetoed the ROE Amendment to the state budget.
The measure would reduce the age of parental or judicial consent for minors seeking abortions, remove born alive protections for infants who survived abortion, lower the medical criteria for late term abortions, and make abortions more dangerous for women by allowing midwifes and nurse practitioners to perform them.
The Catholic Action League called Baker’s veto “compelling evidence of just how extreme this legislation is.”
Catholic Action League Executive Director C. J. Doyle made the following comment: “Governor Baker was correct to veto this amendment. The entire rationale for it was bogus.”
“Nothing President Donald Trump’s appointees to the U. S. Supreme Court may do regarding Roe v. Wade will have any impact on the 1981 decision by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, Moe v. Hanley, which established a right to abortion under the Massachusetts Constitution.”
“All seven current members of the SJC support that decision. There are overwhelming majorities in both branches of the Legislature in favor of legal abortion. No proponent of the right to life has been elected Governor of the Commonwealth since Edward King in 1978, 42 years ago.”
“This measure was always about agitprop, fundraising and muscle flexing by Planned Parenthood and NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts, who have successfully exploited and monetized liberal paranoia about Donald Trump and the Supreme Court.”
Two women decided against abortion on Wednesday at the very busy Women’s Health Services in Brookline. Both of them spoke to a sidewalk counselor and took pro-life material. Please pray for both of these women and their families.
It was a busy morning at Planned Parenthood Tuesday, December 1; not surprising since they were closed Thursday-Saturday of last week. There were definitely abortion appointments among the various women who went in.
This man heckled pro-lifers through most of the 40 Days for Life. On this particular day, he and another heckler passing by nearly came to blows. Boston Police intervened and the second man was charged with something, but no arrest was made.
Learn Your Options pregnancy center reported that they have had 111 women choose life for their babies this year—so far! A big catalyst for most of the 111 was a result of seeing the ultrasound image of their babies.
Forty Days for Life had strong participation on Saturday and Sunday; hecklers were present, however.
As expected, President Trump nominated Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court. The Democrat outrage and smear campaign are givens. But there are other hazards on the road to confirmation:
1. Does the Republican Senate really want to confirm Judge Barrett? “We have the votes,” it has been said repeatedly. We’ll see. It was considered a sure thing that Planned Parenthood would be defunded when Trump got elected along with a Republican House and Senate. But, somehow the Republican Senate could not quite come up with the votes.
Trump has numerous enemies in the Republican ranks, some overt, some not. And most Republicans are not known for their courageous stands on principle, which makes them vulnerable to intimidation by the Democrat media.
Over the weekend Senator Lindsey Graham announced that Judiciary Committee hearings will not begin until October 12(!), with the expectation of a committee vote in favor of Judge Barrett on October 22. After that should be the confirmation vote in the full senate.
This confirmation date strikes me as dangerously close to Election Day. Democrats will seize any pretext to delay; how determined will the Republicans be in resisting them? On Meet the Press Senator Roy Blunt (R–Mo.) said that the confirmation “could be done before Election Day. If for some reason it’s not done, we’ll do it after Election Day.” Is he a canary in the coal mine?
2. Will Amy Barrett be the Justice we are looking for?
As recent history shows, placing justices on the Supreme Court is something akin to stud poker. Several cards are face up, perhaps suggesting victory, but there are the “hole”—face down—cards. When turned over, your imminent victory can abruptly become a shocking loss.
The information we have about Amy Barrett is limited, but still encouraging. She was (is?) a member of the Notre Dame Faculty for Life. In 2017, Planned Parenthood “condemned” her appointment to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals because “Coney Barrett has a very active and vocal opposition to reproductive rights.”
It is a gamble, but Judge Barrett ought to be confirmed. She is probably the best available, and despite her deference to precedent (see below), the Supreme Court can reverse precedent. Since we are pro-lifers and non-Democrats, we have no choice but to take our chances.
3. More about the gamble
The confirmation process for the Supreme Court is one of “Don’t ask, don’t tell.” Certain questions, especially on abortion must not be asked , nor answered. (Unless the nominee is a Democrat, pledging allegiance to Roe v. Wade .) Trump was asked on Fox and Friends if he discussed particular court cases, such as Roe v. Wade, with Amy Barrett:
“So I didn’t think it was for me to discuss that with her. Because it’s something she’s going to be ruling on and this is what I was told — although I would have had the right to do that,” the president responded.
“But if you look at her, her past actions, rulings, I guess she maybe would be in the category that you mentioned, I don’t know, I can say this that she is certainly conservative in her views and her rulings. And we’ll have to see how that all works out,” he said.
Yes, we’ll see. And why would we care what she thinks about Roe v. Wade anyway?
4. And how about stare decisis?
Justices of the Supreme Court and lower federal courts solemnly swear “to support and defend the Constitution.” During the confirmation process in 2017 for the Seventh Circuit, Amy Barrett was asked:
Under what circumstances would you decide to defer to your “best understanding” of the Constitution rather than to precedent?
She answered: If I am confirmed, there are no circumstances under which I would defer to my best understanding of the Constitution rather than to Supreme Court precedent. As for potential conflicts between my best understanding of the Constitution and Seventh Circuit precedent, I would apply the law of stare decisis .
Stare decisis is Latin for “to stand by things decided.” So, if a disordered judge or court has issued an unconstitutional ruling, that takes priority over the constitution in the rulings of a lower court, according to the “doctrine” of stare decisis. So much for the oath!
And how about an abortion case?
She answered: In Planned Parenthood v. Casey , the plurality opinion declined to overrule Roe because, among other things, “people have organized intimate relationships and made choices that define their views of themselves and their places in society, in reliance on the availability of abortion in the event that contraception should fail.” 505 U.S. 833, 856 (1992). That decision, like all Supreme Court precedents, would be binding upon me as a Circuit Judge if I am confirmed.
These positions, which may surprise you, are not unique to Amy Barrett. They are held by nearly all judges; they all receive the same indoctrination. According to the Congressional Research Service, “In 1765, the English jurist William Blackstone described the doctrine of English common law precedent as establishing a strong presumption that judges would ‘abide by former precedents, where the same points come again in litigation’ unless such precedents were ‘flatly absurd or unjust’ in order to promote stability in the law.”
Apparently it has not occurred to the ruling class that Roe v. Wade is flatly absurd and unjust.
5. Doing their best?
Not long ago, Chief Justice Roberts, in a retort to President Trump’s complaint about an “Obama judge,” said, “There are no ‘Obama judges’”; just conscientious jurists doing their best(!).
Would it surprise you to learn that Amy Barrett apparently agrees with John Roberts? And is that a reason to be alarmed?
In a 2016 speech at Jacksonville University, starting at about the 14:00 minute mark, Amy Barrett opined on the perception versus reality of prominent court decisions. Citizens, she said, see the headlines, e.g., “Court strikes down Texas abortion restrictions,” but not the reasoning and hard analysis that goes into such decisions. This, she continued, leaves citizens “with the impression that justices and judges are just casting votes based on policy results that they would prefer. ...[B]ut that is not how judges see their role.”
Really?? Does Amy Barrett, a brilliant jurist, really think that the judiciary is all on the level? “Casting votes based on policy results that they would prefer” is exactly how liberal judges operate. There are Obama judges!
Ed Whelan in National Review: Nothing in Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s record provides any support for the charge that she would indulge her Catholic faith and her reputed pro-life convictions in deciding cases, and one of her votes cuts directly against such a charge.
During her three years on the Seventh Circuit, Judge Barrett has taken part in two proceedings involving state regulation of abortion. Both were decisions by the en banc Seventh Circuit whether to rehear panel rulings.

Every Supreme Court law clerk who served the same term (October Term 1998) that Amy Coney Barrett clerked for Justice Scalia signed a letter supporting her nomination to the Seventh Circuit. The signatories hailed Barrett as a “woman of remarkable intellect and character,” as someone who “conducted herself with professionalism, grace, and integrity” and “was able to work collaboratively with her colleagues (even those with whom she disagreed) on challenging legal questions,” and as “smart, honorable, and fair-minded.”
Carrie Gress, PhD, interviewed on the Bookmark show on EWTN, discusses her book The Anti-Mary Exposed. Her book covers various manifestations of the “enmmity between you and the woman” (Gen 3:15), e.g., feminism, promiscuity, abortion, the occult, etc. and remedial measures. The female sign vandal (below) is a textbook example of an anti-Mary. Video runs 27 minutes.
“I love my abortions! They saved my life!” exclaimed the young woman (above; she was a pedestrian, not a P.P. customer) as she passed by us in front of Planned Parenthood the morning of August 19. A few minutes later she returned and confronted Frank (above) and another pro-lifer with a diatribe of rage and obscenities. Though expressing love for her two abortions, the love affair has not made her happy. As she continued toward the crosswalk, she lunged at Frank’s two signs (below), damaging the framework. She was deterred by a Planned Parenthood security guard who came out and yelled at her, after which she walked away.
On Saturday, August 15, this man smashed two of Frank’s signs with his cane (note the metallic looking object on the end of it) as he walked past Planned Parenthood. Fortunately, Joe followed him and flagged down the police officer at the end of the block. This man is a regular pedestrian who has never vandalized any of our signs before. He may be a Satanist: he nearly always wears all black, and recently wore a tee shirt with a pentagram on the front. We don’t know of any connection between them, but we did notice the common color of the tall man’s garb and that of the raging blonde, plus the proximity in time (only four days apart).
We speculated that the tall man in black may have been triggered by Frank’s new sign (above, after the attack): the image of Jesus holding the Eucharistic host. Not compatible with Satanic devotion.
August 1 was fifth annual National Pro-Life Generation Sidewalk Day, sponsored by Students for Life of America. Abigail Young, SFLA New England Regional Coordinator is on the left.
Carmel received a phone call — out of the blue — from a young woman she met on the sidewalk last year. She was pregnant, had an abortion scheduled, but was leaning against the abortion. So, the next day, Carmel and Stephanie drove out to meet the young woman. Bottom line: abortion appointment cancelled and the young woman has gratefully received assistance from the pro-lifers, with more to come.

“I support those who choose to demonstrate peacefully in favor of social equality, equity and justice. However, The Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation and Antifa promote beliefs and stances that directly contradict Catholic Church teachings. I have always opposed these contradictions to Church teaching and have never advocated for any organization that promotes these contradictions. I have never supported those who bring violence to otherwise peaceful demonstrations.”

In case you have not noticed, the mayhem in our streets is a revolutionary movement. Racism is a pretext; the over-riding goal is the destruction of western civilization and Christendom. Atheistic materialism is the essence of the resultant communist “workers’ paradise,” which is the antithesis of a pro-life society.
Here are their own words from the website marxism.com:
On the one hand, the demand to end racist killings at the hands of the police seems straightforward, and was being made loudly on the protest.
But on the other hand, we must emphasise that this cannot be achieved within the capitalist system. This police violence and racism is a symptom of the violence and racism inherent within capitalism: a system based on exploitation and oppression.
Revolutionary demands are therefore necessary for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The murder of George Floyd is a spark that has ignited all the accumulated combustible material of anger and discontent in society — in the USA and in Britain. The task now is to organise radicalised workers and youth — black and white — against the real culprit: capitalism.
“Trained marxist” Black Lives Matter leader: “Our goal is to get Trump out!”
In August 2018, about one year after the violent confrontation in Charlottesville, VA the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops announced the formation of a special committee to deal with the national “crisis” of racism. In November 2018 the bishops approved the release of Open Wide Our Hearts, a pastoral letter against racism.
The letter confirms that racism is sinful and claims that the United States remains guilty of “systemic racism.”
Given the timing of the letter and the actual non-crisis status of racism, it is difficult avoid the inference that it was written to lend the bishops’ support—give their blessing, so to speak—to the Democrats’ Trump-is-a-racist slander.
That individual bishops have now aligned themselves with Black Lives Matter, et al., reinforces the perception that they are more politic than prophetic.
On June 5, 2020 Cardinal O’Malley took up the systemic racism theme in a letter to the people of the Boston archdiocese: “George Floyd’s death makes clear that racist premises and attitudes, often implicit, are woven through basic structures — political, legal, economic, cultural and religious — in the United States.”
But this is a logical error: inferring nationwide corruption from the behavior of four policemen. The cardinal’s statement may seem correct because, like all circular reasoning, it rests on an assumption which in turn is mistaken for a conclusion.
But is the assumption correct? Are racist attitudes “woven through the basic structures” of the nation? I don’t think so. We have a hideous history and we will probably always have racist individuals, but the days of lynchings, the Klan, Jim Crow, and segregated public facilities are over. [Recommended: 22 minute video of attorney and talk show host Larry Elder rebutting interviewer David Rubin on systemic racism.]
The convenient thing about denouncing racism in America today is that there is near universal agreement that racism is evil. Thus, denouncing it has almost no cost today; in contrast to, say, seventy years ago; and also it is much less costly than taking a prophetic stand against popular sins that really have reached crisis levels.
It is disappointing that Cardinal O’Malley’s letter does not take the revolutionary aspect of Black Lives Matter and the protests into account. But he does seem to be conscious of it in at least one respect: he forced the resignation of MIT chaplain Father Moloney.
This is a Stalinist tactic used against a priest who had the integrity to dissent from the credo of the mob. In an email to MIT Catholics, Father Moloney had the temerity to raise questions that must not be asked; to make observations such as:
In the wake of George Floyd’s death, most people in the country have framed this as an act of racism. I don’t think we know that. Many people have claimed that racism is major problem in police forces. I don’t think we know that. Police officers deal with dangerous and bad people all the time, and that often hardens them. They do this so that the rest of us can live in peace, but sometimes at a cost to their souls.
Here is the full text of Father Maloney’s email to MIT Catholics.
MIT’s Bias Response Team (PC police) demanded that Father Moloney resign. Cardinal O’Malley complied and compelled him to do so.
In a time of mob rule, reason is out, demands are in.
It is a time for choosing for all of us: will we emulate Pilate or Jesus?

“Black Lives Matter” is a violent Marxist-Leninist group; its agenda is anti-family, pro-LGBT, and pro-open borders. Its goals are ultimately destructive to blacks.

The United States is infected with racism at its core, Cardinal Sean O’Malley says in a letter to be read to Catholic parishioners in the Archdiocese of Boston this weekend (June 6-7).
“George Floyd’s death makes clear that racist premises and attitudes, often implicit, are woven through basic structures — political, legal, economic, cultural and religious — in the United States,” O’Malley writes.
He acknowledges changes in legislation starting in the 1960s and the eight-year presidency of Barack Obama, noting “that there have been important and meaningful advances of civil rights and the election of an African American President.”
“But to know that fifty years later four police officers would see themselves entitled to murder a black man with impunity makes clear how far we must yet go to achieve racial equality,” O’Malley says in the letter.

How much of our New England Catholic Church will survive the CCP virus trial? I don’t know, but the indications are there will be heavy casualties. For years before the virus, the Church had already been suffering declining attendance and revenue due to scandals, the birth dearth, and the overall secular trends in society.
Now has come the re-opening. But with a litany of intrusive sanitizing and safety measures.
I am among those who believe that the measures taken in this pandemic — lockdowns, masks, social distancing, etc. — have been way overdone, with little regard for the costs of these measures, which are human — life and health — as well as monetary; that the Fauci / Baker regimen is toxic to the health of the Church; and that it is fostering fear instead of faith.
This is not to deny the reality or danger of the virus. But our response to this virus is unprecedented and highlights a striking contrast: the quantity and frequency of messages and procedures within the Church designed to avoid the corona virus, versus the relative rarity of warnings about mortal (a seldom invoked term) sins that threaten our eternal life; but which surveys indicate are widely practiced by Catholics.
In many, if not most, parishes communicants are now required to receive in the hand; often preceded by a mandatory application of hand sanitizer.
But if a notorious abortion advocate decides to receive Communion, which should be denied to him, according to Canon 915; no problem! Despite the fact that it’s sacrilegious and detrimental to the recipient, according to scripture.
Are we perhaps drifting backwards? Consider this passage from the Gospel of Mark:
Now when the Pharisees gathered together to him, with some of the scribes, who had come from Jerusalem, they saw that some of his disciples ate with hands defiled, that is, unwashed. (For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, do not eat unless they wash their hands, observing the tradition of the elders; and when they come from the market place, they do not eat unless they purify themselves; and there are many other traditions which they observe, the washing of cups and pots and vessels of bronze.) And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, “Why do your disciples not live according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with hands defiled?” And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written,
‘This people honors me with their lips,
but their heart is far from me;
in vain do they worship me,
teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’”
— Mark 7:1-7
Are health gurus and government leaders trustworthy?
Has the Church become too compliant toward and entangled with the state? Is the church in the USA moving toward the German model, where clergy are salaried employees of the government?
Fear and isolation can render the Church more vulnerable to being enlisted in ungodly agendas of the state. Such as . . . ?
One prospect on the near horizon is “contact tracing” — an expansion of the surveillance state, under the guise of accumulating a data base of people who have come in contact with others infected with the COVID virus; not to mention a convenient pretext for bureaucrats to shut down a parish.
An article on how contact tracing will work with phone apps is here; an excellent column by Michelle Malkin delves into this proposed revolutionary step. Of course, there is big money involved.
Finally, this email from an out of state woman:
Attempted to go to Confession just now at a local church. I was greeted at the door by two masked folks with clipboards. Was informed I had to give my full name for “contact tracing” purposes. I said, “I just want to go to Confession.”
“Yes, we need your full name.”
“I only want to go to Confession.”
“We need your full name.”
I turned around and left.
This is RIDICULOUS. It’s way too Big Brother-ish and creepy as hell. If this is the “new normal” then we have forfeited everything.

The Church must change. She must stop being afraid of causing shock and of going against the tide. She must give up thinking of herself as a worldly institution. She must return to her only “raison d’être:” faith. The Church is there to announce that Jesus conquered death through His resurrection. This is at the heart of her message: “And if Christ has not been raised, then empty, too, is our preaching; empty, too, your faith ... and we are the most wretched of all men” (1 Corinthians 15:14-19). All the rest is only a consequence of this.
Our societies will come out of this crisis weakened. They will need psychologists to overcome the trauma of not being able to accompany the elderly and the dying to their tombs, but even more, they will need priests to teach them to pray and to hope. The crisis reveals that our societies, without knowing it, are suffering deeply from a spiritual evil: they do not know how to give meaning to suffering, finitude and death.
Outside of Adams Square Baptist Church, May 10. Note this woman’s hat!
NEW BOSTON POST, May 10: On Sunday, Pastor Kris Casey did exactly what he has done the past two Sundays and this past Wednesday: hold a church service for more than 10 people.
This one drew the biggest crowd.
Several dozen attendees gathered at Adams Square Baptist Church in Worcester, and followed all the same precautions in place as last week: non-relatives had to sit at least six feet apart, masks and gloves were mandatory, temperature checks took place at the door, and the church underwent a professional cleaning before the service. Additionally, there was no collection this Sunday or last Sunday.
Pastor Casey has been punished for holding the church services, which go against Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker’s executive order of March 23 that limits most gatherings to 10 people or less.
Casey got a citation from the Worcester Police with a $300 civil penalty for his service last Sunday. For the service this past Wednesday, Worcester’s city manager has said that Worcester Police have applied for a criminal complaint and a fine of $500 against the church — although Casey clarified on Sunday that he has not yet received official notice of the fine.
RIGA, Latvia, May 1, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) — A Latvian archbishop said the country’s faithful have been publicly receiving all sacraments throughout the coronavirus pandemic after spiritual leaders convinced authorities that “spiritual food is no less important than physical food” and that “man does not live of bread alone.”
Latvia is a small state in Eastern Europe, slightly larger than West Virginia, bordering both the Baltic Sea and Russia. The country’s population is under two million people, and Lutheranism is the predominant religion. About 20 percent of the population identifies as Catholic.
Archbishop Zbignevs Stankevics of Riga sent a statement to Zenit, a Catholic news agency, in which he explained the importance of continuous dialog with government authorities.
The archbishop, and other Catholics, made their case by pointing out how the public celebration of the sacraments, even amid a pandemic, would be beneficial to the state by reducing social tensions.
“Lately, psychiatrists have pointed out the worsening of mental problems because of the restrictions,” Stankevics said. “In this regard, the church helps the society to maintain its psychological and mental health in times of crisis.”

Gregory Smith, 86, a veteran rescuer, passed away on April 3rd. He is pictured above with his signature crucifix on a pole, which he brought to Planned Parenthood every Saturday for his weekly rosary vigil. The crucifix also accompanied Greg on his many vigils in Stoughton, across the street from a strip club.
The obituary stated that due to the current Covid 19 directives, a private Graveside Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Greg's memory to Operation Rescue: Boston, PO Box 870037, Milton Village, MA 02187-0037. Before 8:00 am on the morning of Wednesday, May 15, an 18-year old woman was dropped off in front of Planned Parenthood. Eleanor greeted her and learned that she had an appointment for an abortion, but did not really want the abortion — but her mother did! And the mother did not like the fact the the daughter was talking to Eleanor! As she approached — she had been parking the car — she had a very hostile expression, plus angry words as she ushered the daughter into Planned Parenthood.
“Let’s pray!” said Eleanor to Mary. “We’ll ask the Holy Spirit to put the thought into the mother’s head: ‘What are we doing here?’”
Around 10:30 am: Eleanor was standing near her car (about 50 feet from Planned Parenthood) when she saw mother and daughter coming toward her from the abortion facility. They spoke, all smiles (even the mother!), and no abortion. Mother said to Eleanor, “I was sitting there and thinking, ‘What are we doing here?’”
ABOVE: Judy (blue with white stripes), being treated for a head injury just before entering the ambulance. Judy talked to a couple as they walked out of Planned Parenthood the morning of April 20, Holy Saturday. The man, Hartman Deetz, stopped and turned toward Judy as she spoke. Without saying anything he suddenly lunged at and pushed her. Judy was knocked backward, fell on the sidewalk, and hit her head HARD, leaving a big lump and probably a concussion. She was taken to the ER at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital; no skull fracture and no bleeding. She was released early Saturday afternoon.
ABOVE: Assailant Hartman Deetz about to enter the Boston Police prisoner transport van. He was charged with felony assault on a person over 60. We must also note with appreciation that two security guards came out of Planned Parenthood very promptly following the assault and apprehended Deetz before he could get away.
We are saddened and shocked following the sudden, unexpected death of Paul Pedro, one of the stalwarts of our pro-life apostolate. Saint Paul of the Cross we sometimes called him, because of his signature crucifix that accompanied his prayer at Planned Parenthood. Paul was steadfast, generous, and longsuffering. May he rest in peace.
OBITUARY: Pedro, Paul — Age 67, entered into eternal life on April 20, 2019. Paul grew up in East Boston and Revere and has lived in Weymouth since 1987. Mr. Pedro was a sprinkler design engineer at Carlysle Engineering in Boston. Paul was a Eucharistic minister at Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth.
Beloved husband of Patricia C. (Connolly) Pedro. Devoted father of Christian Pedro of Somerville, Conor Pedro and his wife Jaclyn Zeoli of Plymouth, Sasha Pedro of Weymouth, and Rachel Pedro of Weymouth. Beloved brother of Mary Pedro of Peabody, John Pedro and his wife Francine of Brookline, NH, Patricia Alicandro and her husband Joseph of Arlington, the late Joanne Furia, and the late Joseph Pedro. Brother-in-law of Elaine Pedro of Peabody. Paul was also greatly loved by his many nieces and nephews.
APRIL 16 — By Dennis Prager: The symbolism of the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral, the most renowned building in Western civilization, the iconic symbol of Western Christendom, is hard to miss.
It is as if God Himself wanted to warn us in the most unmistakable way that Western Christianity is burning — and with it, Western civilization.
Baker signs conversion therapy ban
MONDAY, APRIL 8: Governor Charlie Baker signed a bill today banning conversion therapy in Massachusetts.
The measure, Massachusetts House Bill 140, makes it illegal for therapists to offer techniques designed to change the sexual orientation or gender identity of a person 17 or younger, on pain of losing the license to practice. It also declares conversion therapy to be an unfair or deceptive practice in commerce, under the state’s consumer protection law known as Chapter 93A, with a statute of limitations of four years for bringing a lawsuit by an individual or by the state Attorney General.
Legislators attached an emergency preamble to the bill, so it takes effect almost immediately — of course!
The final version of the bill does not include an earlier provision that defined seeking conversion therapy as child abuse and thus possibly would have triggered action by the state Department of Children and Families against parents who pursue it. That provision, which was in the original version of the legislation passed earlier this year by the Massachusetts Senate, was taken out of the bill that both the House and Senate passed recently.
Massachusetts is the 16th state in the country to ban conversion therapy.
In our haste to denounce New York and Virginia’s advocacy for 40-week abortions and infanticide, we have adopted rhetoric that betrays our case. When we call late-term abortion “extreme,” we imply that there is a more moderate abortion position, something more palatable for a just society.
We must realize a fundamental truth: late-term abortion is not “extremism.” Abortion is extremism.

FEBRUARY 21, 2019 — The long-awaited summit on clerical sex abuse is to be held at the Vatican from February 21-24. The fact that the meeting will only last four days suggests that it is only meant to reassure the public that something is being done. It’s highly unlikely that the kind of reforms that are now needed in the Church can be discussed and formulated in a few days.
There are other reasons to be suspicious. For one thing, the summit is being billed as “The Protection of Minors in the Church.” Yet the present crisis is not mainly about the abuse of minors. It’s about the abuse of seminarians by priest and bishops, consensual sex among priests, and the coverup of such sexual misconduct by bishops and cardinals. The February meeting has been engineered to avoid the root problems—one of which is the existence of a homosexual subculture within the Church.
Another reason to doubt that the summit is meant to seriously address any of the above problems is that the man Pope Francis has appointed to organize it has a major conflict of interest. Cardinal Blase Cupich, let’s recall, is one of the prelates named in Archbishop Vigano’s indictment of corruption in the hierarchy. Cupich is mentioned in the Vigano statement as being “blinded by his pro-gay ideology.”

This year marks the bicentennial of Karl Marx’s birth, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the new political star in New York, is making Marxism glamorous again. When she first hit the media circuit, her choice of lipstick was the crucial issue.
Yet for Ocasio-Cortez personally, “democratic socialism” is her real agenda and she credits her Catholic background for her devotion to it. But historically, the Catholic Church has denounced socialism, from Leo XIII’s 1891 encyclical Rerum Novarum to the latest Catechism of the Catholic Church to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI’s Instruction on Certain Aspects of the Liberation Theology in October 1984. So how have several generations of Catholics, in this country and elsewhere, decided that socialism is harmonious with Catholicism?
From HLI — Church historian: This crisis is much worse than you think
Professor Benjamin Wiker: those priests, bishops and cardinals complicit in sex abuse and active homosexuality are not merely one cause among many of the “devangelization, de-Christianization, repaganization” of culture, they are the “chief agents” of the aforesaid. For, as he rightly notes, “there is nothing, nothing, that undermines the moral and theological authority of the magisterium more quickly and thoroughly than the devilish marriage of scandal and hypocrisy. It destroys the ability to evangelize.”
Realizing how widely reviled their ideas are, several decades ago the left figured out a procedural scam to give them whatever they wanted without ever having to pass a law. Hey! You can’t review a Supreme Court decision!
So when you hear liberals carrying on about all the “rights,” threatened by Kavanaugh, remember that by “rights,” they mean “policy ideas so unpopular that we can’t pass a law creating such rights.”

It has become fashionable to equate the French and American Revolutions, but they share absolutely nothing beyond the word “revolution.” The American Revolution was a movement based on ideas, painstakingly argued by serious men in the process of creating what would become the freest, most prosperous nation in the history of the world. (Until Democrats decided to give it away to the Third World.)
The French Revolution is the godless antithesis to the founding of America.
The Preamble to the Constitution of Ireland
In the Name of the Most Holy Trinity, from Whom is all authority and to Whom, as our final end, all actions both of men and States must be referred, We, the people of Éire, humbly acknowledging all our obligations to our Divine Lord, Jesus Christ, Who sustained our fathers through centuries of trial, gratefully remembering their heroic and unremitting struggle to regain the full independence of our Nation, and seeking to promote the common good with due observance of Prudence, Justice, and Charity, so that the dignity and freedom of the individual may be assured, true social order attained, the unity of our country restored, and concord established with other nations, do hereby adopt, enact, and give ourselves this Constitution.
Feast of the Most Holy Trinity
27 May 2018
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
On this feast of the Most Holy Trinity, two days after Ireland’s national apostasy from the Holy Catholic Faith (on May 25), how can we hear the Gospel that was sung just moments ago, and not recall the Constitution that the Irish people gave themselves 80 years ago in 1938? Friday’s vote was not about abortion only; it was about killing Ireland’s soul, about snuffing out all that made Ireland a beacon among the nations, about publicly renouncing all that, from the time that Saint Patrick kindled his blazing fire on the Hill of Slane, made this island home of ours a great welcoming Catholic hearth in a world grown cold and dark. Ireland was, among all the nations on earth, the one that unsparingly sent forth sons and daughters, intrepid in confessing the Holy Trinity, to bring the light of faith to the most far–flung corners of the globe.
And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. (Matthew 28:18)
How did we come to this? Among those who voted “Yes” on Friday, the vast number were baptized, and sealed with the sign of the Gift of the Holy Ghost in Confirmation. Some of these would have been confirmed but a few years ago. Among them were people who once knelt at the altar to receive the adorable Body of Christ, formed by the Holy Ghost in the womb of the Virgin Mary, immolated on the Cross, risen from the tomb, ascended into heaven, and returning in glory. Among them are people who, (and I say this with fear and trembling), will dare even to present themselves for Holy Communion today. To these, I can only repeat what the Apostle says:
Whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord. (1 Corinthians 11:27)
One cannot say that we were not warned. God did send his prophets to Ireland. I think of Frank Duff. I think of Saint John Paul II who, in October 1979, was given a rapturous welcome. Pope Benedict XVI’s Letter to the Catholics of Ireland, written only eight years ago, was prophetic. What became of it? Why was it filed away and not heeded?
There are reports of victory celebrations in Dublin and elsewhere: a satanic crowing, jeers hurled at Our Lord, against His Virgin Mother, and against the Church. The whole climate is eerily reminiscent of France in 1789, of Mexico in 1910, of Russia in 1917, of Germany in 1933, and of Spain in 1936. Even worse than the crowds hell–bent on celebrating the choice of death over life are the complacent lies of those government ministers who, with a smug satisfaction, speak of A New Modern Ireland At Last, an Ireland of compassion, justice, and respect for women. The accent in all such discourses is that of the ancient serpent:
Now the serpent was more subtle than any of the beasts of the earth which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman: Why hath God commanded you, that you should not eat of every tree of paradise? And the woman answered him, saying: Of the fruit of the trees that are in paradise we do eat: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of paradise, God hath commanded us that we should not eat; and that we should not touch it, lest perhaps we die. And the serpent said to the woman: No, you shall not die the death. For God doth know that in what day soever you shall eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened: and you shall be as Gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3:1–5)
You will forgive me if I repeat today the words of the prophet Ezechiel:
Thou hast played the harlot with the nations among which thou wast defiled with their idols. Thou hast walked in the way of thy sister, and I will give her cup into thy hand. Thus saith the Lord God: Thou shalt drink thy sister’s cup, deep and wide: thou shalt be had in derision and scorn, which containeth very much. Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness, and sorrow: with the cup of grief, and sadness, with the cup of thy sister Samaria. And thou shalt drink it, and shalt drink it up even to the dregs, and thou shalt devour the fragments thereof, thou shalt rend thy breasts: because I have spoken it, saith the Lord God. (Ezechiel 23:30–34)
What is remains for us? I will tell you what remains:
And now there remain faith, hope, and charity, these three: but the greatest of these is charity. (1 Corinthians 13:13)
Draw near to the altar of the Holy Sacrifice, even as our forefathers drew in around the Mass Rocks. The altar is Ireland’s Divine Hearth. Not for nothing was the altar of the Lamb shown at Knock in 1879. Fall down in adoration and in reparation. Cry out to the Immaculate Mother of God, still Ireland’s Queen and Sorrowful Mother. My own dear father, with all the wisdom of his 91 years, said to me yesterday, “God has a plan. God will have the last word.” And what says Our Lord in today’s Gospel? He says this: “Behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world” (Matthew 28:20). In this promise of His, let us rest all our hope.

Why Doesn’t Liberation Theology Apply to the People of Iran?
by WILLIAM KILPATRICK
Liberation theology, which was out of favor under John Paul II and Benedict XVI, seems to have made a comeback under Pope Francis. Francis has rehabilitated several liberation theologians and even appointed some to advisory positions.
One would be mistaken, however, to think that this concern applies to all oppressed peoples. How many Church leaders are calling for Muslims to be liberated from the oppressive rule of Islam in Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Pakistan, Somalia, and elsewhere?
With a few exceptions, the bishops have adopted a shockingly naïve view of Islam. Take this excerpt from the 2016 Joint Declaration between the USCCB and the Qom Seminary Scholars of Iran.
“Christianity and Islam share a commitment to love and respect for the life, dignity, and welfare of all members of the human community. Both traditions reject transgressions and injustices as reprehensible, and oppose any actions that endanger the life, health, dignity, or welfare of others. We hold a common commitment to peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.”
That’s typical of numerous Pollyannaish statements about Islam issued by Catholic bishops over the last five decades. It’s the kind of boilerplate generated by people who are vastly more interested in issuing declarations and arriving at agreements than in getting at the truth of things.

NOVEMBER 25, 2017 — Globe columnist Margery Eagan rejoiced over Father James Martin, S.J., who attributes the tolerance of his pro-LGBTQ campaign to the “Pope Francis effect.”
At his November 12 speech in Newton, a near-capacity crowd gave him a standing ovation!

Anthony Esolen offers a scathing perspective, asking Father Martin to open his eyes.
Scranton, PA Bishop Joseph C. Bambera is defending Jesuit Fr. James Martin’s speaking engagement at Misericordia University’s winter commencement on December 17, saying that the priest’s latest book condoning homosexuality was “written with the full consent of his religious superiors and in conformity with Catholic Church publishing guidelines.”
One of the big mysteries of our day is how so many supposedly enlightened Catholics have managed to get it so wrong about Islam for so long. It’s understandable that in the 1960s, when the Islamic world was relatively quiescent, Catholics might entertain the high hopes for Islamic-Catholic relations expressed in Nostra Aetate. But this is 2017 and in the intervening half century a lot of water has passed under the bridge.
It’s not just that many clergy and lay Catholic leaders fail to appreciate the deep differences in theology between Islam and Christianity, they fail to grasp the deep cultural and human differences that flow from the theological differences. To put the matter bluntly, Christianity is a humanizing religion and Islam is not.
Contraception is a threat to national security!
Demographic bankruptcy leads to financial bankruptcy, and financial bankruptcy heightens the risk of political collapse. And a bankrupt nation is at the mercy of its creditors and of opportunistic neighbors. So European society today is in grave danger. Click for the full column by Phil Lawler

Axis of Evil IV by Ray Neary (Renew America) — Planned Parenthood is the perfect example of a living lie. The organization derives millions of dollars annually, not from planning parenthood, but by assisting a mother to de-parent and doing the same to the father of a new member of our human family.
Research vindicates Catholic teaching on marriage and contraception (Touchstone)
One must be careful not to over-generalize, but there is a lot of insight in Professor James Hitchcock’s article, “Conservative Bishops, Liberal Results.”

Our Massachusetts legislature has approved a slightly modified ROE Act, via a budget amendment. On December 28 the House overrode Governor Baker’s veto. The vote in the House was 107–46. The Senate vote was 32–8.
This legislation lowers the age at which a young woman could procure an abortion without parental or judicial consent from 18 to 16; eliminates the legal requirement that the abortionist preserve the life of a child born alive; lowers the medical standard for allowing dangerous, late term abortions; and eliminates, for abortions prior to 24 weeks, the requirement that physicians perform the procedure, permitting physician’s assistants, nurse practitioners and midwives to do abortions!
